US officials claim that the recent US-led coalition attack on pro-government forces was a defensive measure and that those targeted had entered a “deconfliction zone.” But Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov pointed out the flimsiness of this excuse.

The US presence in Syria is authorized by neither the UN nor Syria’s government; and the only deconfliction zones in Syria are the ones established by Iran, Turkey and Russia and are as-yet incomplete. RT’s Caleb Maupin has the story.
